Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 101 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA. When you visit the site, Netlify processes technically necessary data: your IP address, the date and time of the request, the requested address, the amount of data transferred, information about your browser and operating system, your browser's preferred language and, if your browser sends it, the page you visited before. This is necessary to deliver the site, keep it running reliably and fend off attacks.

If the first language set in your browser is not German, Netlify redirects you from the German home page to the English version. For this, Netlify evaluates the language information that your browser sends with every request anyway.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is to provide the website securely and reliably and to show it to visitors in a language they understand.

Netlify processes the data on my behalf under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Data may be transferred to the USA in the process. Netlify is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, so these transfers are covered by the adequacy decision of the European Commission (Art. 45 GDPR). In addition, Netlify uses the Standard Contractual Clauses of the European Commission. Netlify describes how long it stores log data in its privacy policy: https://www.netlify.com/privacy/

Contact by email

If you send me an email, I process your address, your message and the information it contains in order to respond to your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; if your request concerns entering into a contract, such as an employment contract, it is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR. I delete your message once it has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations prevent this.

Emails to my address are received by Namecheap, Inc., 4600 East Washington Street, Suite 300, Phoenix, AZ 85034, USA, and forwarded to my Gmail mailbox. Namecheap processes the emails on servers in the USA. This transfer is based on the Standard Contractual Clauses of the European Commission (Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR).

Gmail is a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google may also process data in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, so these transfers are covered by the adequacy decision of the European Commission (Art. 45 GDPR). Save contact

The “Save contact” button downloads a contact file (vCard) from this server. Netlify processes the same technically necessary data as for any page request (see “Hosting and server log files”). No further data is collected for this.

Link to LinkedIn

This website does not embed any content from LinkedIn. You only go to LinkedIn when you click the link. LinkedIn's privacy policy applies there: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy

Cookies and browser storage

This website does not set any cookies.

Your browser keeps files of the site in its cache so that it loads faster. No consent is required for this (Section 25 (2) of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act, TDDDG).

If you install the website as an app and open it that way, your browser also stores the pages and their files (texts, images, fonts and the contact file) in its storage so that the app works without an internet connection. No information about you is stored or transmitted to me in the process. The files remain until you delete the site data in your browser. No consent is required for this either, because the storage is strictly necessary for the offline use you requested (Section 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG).

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). You can object to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR). To do so, simply send me an email.

Complaint to a supervisory authority

You can lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for me is the data protection supervisory authority of Lower Saxony (LfD Niedersachsen), Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover, Germany, https://www.lfd.niedersachsen.de

Other information

You are not obliged to provide me with any data. I do not make automated decisions and do not create profiles. The website is delivered exclusively in encrypted form via HTTPS.
